Capture stunning 45 megapixel pictures at up to 20 frames per second or dramatic 12 bit 8K RAW video using the camera's whole sensor width. Deep-learning artificial intelligence is used to develop advanced AF, and in-body image stabilisation integrates seamlessly with the lens.

The ultimate intelligent AF

The camera's autofocus is controlled by a deep-learning AI that was initially created for the EOS-1D X Mark III. Even when seen from the side, the EOS R5 is able to recognize and follow a subject's face and eyes with remarkable accuracy and precision. When shooting dogs, cats, and birds, this tracking capacity is also accessible, maintaining them in excellent focus while they move – This is a first for Canon EOS cameras.

Filmmakers are now again being held to new standards

We were well-positioned to provide the EOS R5 some strong filmmaking capabilities as the pioneers of DSLR video and makers of the renowned Cinema EOS series of cameras and lenses. Internally record 8K (12-bit RAW footage) or 4K (4:2:2 10-bit) at frame speeds up to 120p for outstanding slow-motion effects. All of this is achieved with the camera's full-frame sensor, delivering a genuinely cinematic aesthetic. In all video modes, Dual Pixel CMOS AF II with Face/Eye Detection keeps everything looking clear and provides stunning pull-focus transitions.
